History of Farmers State Bank of Astoria
Farmers State Bank, Astoria was chartered on January 2, 1981. The bank building is one of Astoria's finest, and has been at the corner of Broadway and Pearl Street since 1890.
James E. White was named as the first President of the newly chartered bank. The first original directors were Charles R. Davis, Dennis W. Gorman, Jr. Jon E. Mummert, Kenneth K. Stevens, and James E. White.
In 1992, the interior of the bank was remodeled to better display the beautiful architectural features of this turn of the century building.
